On June 9th, 2009, Mark, Giulia, and Augustus set sail on their first ever road-trip across the United States. Their destination: Delaware, for Mark’s sister’s wedding. The trip is roughly mapped out, but the best part of a road trip is the unknown. Here’s a bit more about our travelers:

Mark – history teacher, surfer, and long-time fan of Sector 9 boards. He bought himself his first Sector 9, a classic pintail, 10 years ago for his 16th birthday, after reading about the company in Surfing magazing. He’s been hooked on S9 ever since.
Vital Stats: brother of the bride, hyper-active with what is probably an undiagnosed case of adult ADD, Gemini, movie-maker and blogger.
@marklukach

Giulia – online marketer, fitness enthusiast, and cautiously learning how to skateboard. Gave up on surfing years ago, wants to cruise around La Jolla on a Luke Nosewalker.
Vital Stats: sassy, thrifty, talks her way out of paying phone bills, loves handbags, shoes, and roasted marshmallows.
@gsmile9
Augustus – aka the Goose, Goose Monkey, Little Fat Man. Dog. Lazy. Hilarious. Is fascinated with Sector 9 skateboards, and wants to learn. Those skateboarding bulldogs on youtube got nothing on this guy.
Vital Stats: loves to sleep, eat, steal other dog’s tennis balls, and hump. Hopes to one day compete in the Olympics in downhill skiing. Will chew on your shoelaces if you let him.
@augustusbulldog

Mark, this is so cool! I admire your sense of adventure, and the ability to live it vicariously through your blog. Good luck and safe travels!
Mark & Giulia, this is so awesome! Can’t wait to follow your adventures!
G- good luck on the skateboard. Me personally, I’m terrified.
I think the Platial map is down. I don’t see it, anyway. Are you going to Humboldt County?
Awesome idea, by the way. Looking forward to following your adventures over the course of the summer.
Mark, dude this is the best thing you could do in the summer, in my opinion. You made the right choice to live the life of an adventurer, and I’ll be watching what’s on this site.
thanks for living life like it should be,
Scott Christ
Fellow Californian and long boarder.
